Beautifully expressed, and I couldn't agree more. Every day I try to look up to the sky, to the very tips of the treetops, and into the intricate depths of flowers. I look long and hard, drinking in their simple beauty, and remind myself of all that's wonderful in my world.

I choose to love instead of hate, to forgive rather than be consumed by ill feelings, to give for the sake of giving without expecting anything in return... and I am more at peace than I have been in all my life.

I used to be an angry young woman until events in life knocked the stuffing out of me. I am so glad they did, because I emerged stronger, more compassionate, and I think, a nicer person to be around.

Sure, there are dark days when I forget for a moment and catch myself wallowing. There's no harm in a healthy release of tension. But I keep it short, bringing myself back by remembering how blessed I am compared to others less fortunate.

Thanks for writing this... we all need an occasional reminder to live life the best way we can.

My thoughts are with your friend and his family. xx

I totally agree. We should count our blessings more.

It is interesting that how when one part of our body gets sick we feel sick all over ... even though the rest is totally healthy. We easily forget ...
