About Illusio.net

How did I come up with the name Illusio.net? Well, Illusio is my online persona, and is also what I decided to call my Art & Design site, Illusio Creative, which incidentally is my business name.

Illusio was a character from a series of novels written by one of my favourite authors, Julian May. The name ‘Illusio’ was given as a nickname to the character of Dorothea MacDondald, from the ‘Milieu Trilogy’. If you want to know more about these novels and the character, then I suggest you find the books and read them. Suffice to say that the whole series, which includes the four books of the ‘Saga of the Exiles’, the vinculum ‘Intervention’ and rounding up with the three books of the ‘Milieu Trilogy’ are my enduring favourites, and always will be. These novels are re-read by me at least once a year, and I cannot make that claim for any book I have read.

The reason why I was so taken with this name in particular, is because the character for whom the name was originally given, was not all that she appeared to be.
